Professional ProfilesDyeing / bleaching specialist for textiles

Is that a spot on your cashmere sweater? No need to panic! A professional textile cleaner provides cleaning services for all textiles in his or her care. Those specialising in the bleaching of textiles may work for facilities like hospitals and hotels, washing large amounts of laundry.
When customers hand over their soiled and crumpled clothing items to a professional cleaner, they get them back good as new. These cleanliness experts perform their work in several steps: they speak with the customer, sort the textiles, look more closely at the soiled spots, choose the right stain treatment for the job, and program the dry-cleaning machine. Finally, they put the garments on a dress form and steam-iron them. With regard to working conditions, it should be noted that the job requires physical resilience: there’s always work to be done, the air is hot and humid, and there are various chemical products in use. This is not a job for people with respiratory or skin allergies.
In addition to small businesses in urban neighbourhoods, two kinds of industrial-scale bleaching facilities have developed: hospital bleacheries, which employ hospital staff (public sector) and private bleacheries and/or linen hire companies, which provide laundry services for corporations. These companies employ fewer workers than small bleacheries, as they rely heavily on machines.
